An innovative hub for the LEXUS vision of luxury lifestyle, INTERSECT BY LEXUS has continued to partner with boldly creative chefs to offer thrilling yet subtle culinary experiences during the Christmas season each year.

For 2019, INTERSECT BY LEXUS is collaborating with Yoji Tokuyoshi, the virtuoso who became the first Japanese owner-chef in Italy to earn a Michelin star in 2016, and who just recently received a Michelin Tokyo 2020 star for his new restaurant, Alter Ego, in Jimbocho. Tokuyoshi will prepare an eight-course “Natale dinner,” serving up the tastes of the Italian Christmas in the heart of Tokyo. Drawing on the local customs and habits for this season in Italy, two courses are available: a fish course on December 23rd and December 24th, and a meat course on December 25th. Tokuyoshi has created both especially for INTERSECT BY LEXUS. The courses include a soup pairing, a popular menu item in Milan. In keeping with LEXUS’ roots as a Japanese brand, the courses also feature Japanese ingredients. Carefully balancing Italian and Japanese influences, experience the evocative Natale Dinner Course from this innovative and ambitious chef only at INTERSECT BY LEXUS.

Chef Profile

Yoji Tokuyoshi
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1977, Yoji Tokuyoshi left home at 18 to study at a cooking school in Tokyo. He then moved to Italy, where he worked for Osteria Francescana in Modena. In just one month he had become sous-chef, in charge of everything from designing the menu to preparing the dishes. During his tenure, the restaurant went from an initial one Michelin star to two in 2006 and eventually three in 2012. After he left Osteria Francescana in 2013, he opened Ristorante Tokuyoshi in Milan. His restaurant soon gained popularity for its fusion of Italian and Japanese food cultures, leading to Tokuyoshi becoming the first Japanese owner-chef in Italy to receive a Michelin star in December 2015. On February 4th, 2019, he opened Alter Ego, an eight-seat restaurant in a backstreet of the Jimbocho neighborhood of Tokyo, earning a star in Michelin Guide 2020. Alter Ego serves a unique balance of Japanese and Japanese cuisine with an emphasis on Japanese ingredients.
