INTERSECT Summer Menu: Shaved Ice and Smoothies

INTERSECT BY LEXUS – TOKYO will offer a special summer menu of a customized shaved ice dessert and two rare sugar smoothies from July 7th.

Using natural ice from the resort district of Karuizawa, the Customized Shaved Ice has become a popular addition to the INTERSECT menu each summer. A unique update on the classic Japanese kakigori dessert, the dessert can be “customized” with a choice of four toppings: a light and foamy espuma sauce with Karuizawa honey; a syrup with ripe passion fruit from Okinawa; powdered Japanese Tochiotome strawberries from Tochigi; and a homemade frozen yogurt that is refreshing and just a little sour. The shaved ice is served in a titanium bowl that keeps it colder for longer, allowing you to savor each delicious mouthful.

Guests can also try two new rare sugar smoothies: Camu Camu, Peach & Pink Grapefruit, and Moringa, Dekopon & Mango.

The Camu Camu, Peach & Pink Grapefruit smoothie includes camu camu, the Amazonian superfood said to contain more vitamin C than any other food in the world. Combined with peaches and pink grapefruit, the result is a superb balance of sweet and sour flavors.

The Moringa, Dekopon & Mango smoothie features moringa (also known as the drumstick tree), which boasts a very high concentration of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Rich also in antioxidant vitamin beta-carotene, vitamins C and E, and polyphenols, moringa is a superfood that helps fight the signs of aging on the skin and prevent lifestyle-related diseases. This is paired with the guilty pleasure that is the sweet taste of the dekopon mandarin orange and mango.

Both smoothies are unusual drinks offering a feast of flavors as well as genuine health and beauty benefits.

In addition, INTERSECT is also offering the fourth in its popular series of collaboration menus with SUGALABO Yosuke Suga.

Natural ice: ice that has frozen naturally in winter over a long period of time. During the gradual freezing process, impurities are forced out to leave ice that is very clean. Compared to regular ice, it is less likely to result in a headache from eating it. It is ideal for use in kakigori-style shaved ice.

Rare sugar: a sugar that occurs naturally only in small quantities, unlike commonly available glucose and other regular types of sugar. It has recently attracted a lot of attention as a healthy sugar substitute with anti-aging qualities.
