Coinciding with the opening of applications for the Lexus Design Award 2018, the INTERSECT BY LEXUS – TOKYO ground floor Garage space will host an exhibition of the Lexus Design Award 2017 finalists, fresh from their much-discussed showcase at the Milan Design Week in April.
The Lexus Design Award is an international competition nurturing the next generation of design talent. Launched in 2013, the award seeks to foster the growth of ideas that contribute to society by supporting designers and creators whose work can help shape a better future.
Selecting “YET” as its theme, a philosophy at the heart of the LEXUS creative mindset, the 2017 contest attracted 1,152 entries from 63 countries around the world.
The exhibition at INTERSECT BY LEXUS features the 12 finalists, including the overall winner of the Grand Prix, Hiroto Yoshizoe’s PIXEL, a device that lets you experience the existence of light and shadow with your full consciousness. Visitors can also see the other three prototype winners, such as the instrument PLAYER’S PFLUTE that provides a fun way for kids to learn about music, and the eight panel winners.
Exhibition: July 26th – early September 2017
